Thomas W. Barao, Managing Partner
Mr. Barao founded Boston Advisory Partners in 2003 and serves as Managing Partner. In this role, he is dedicated to serving clients in Investment Management and Financial Services. He travels frequently, as his clients are located across North America, Europe and Asia. Prior, Tom was Managing Director in the Financial Services Practice of Korn/Ferry International (NYSE). Located in the Boston and New York offices, Tom joined Korn/Ferry in 1991 and was a Partner in the firm. Earlier as Senior Vice President of Robert Half International (NYSE), he worked on the company’s IPO, strategic planning, acquisition and sales/marketing activities.
Tom focuses on senior-level search assignments and lift-outs for investment managers, brokerage firms, banks and insurance companies. He also finds Partners, Principals and Associates for private equity firms, executives for their portfolio companies and advises on deal origination. His experience includes assignments to find Chief Executive Officers and their direct reports; Chief Investment Officers and their investment teams; Heads of Asset Servicing/Client Management and their direct reports; lift-outs and acquisitions for domestic/global/international long, ETF, hedge fund, real assets and structured strategies. Mr. Barao has thirty years of executive search, advisory and business services experience.
He received his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and was also a member of the university’s basketball team. His efforts with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Leadership Council, the Women’s Campaign Fund and the New England Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) involve fundraising, sponsorship, mentoring and coaching.
Christopher J. Arnold, Partner
Mr. Arnold co-founded Boston Advisory Partners in 2003. He has an extensive body of work supporting client companies from Financial Services, Industrial, Technology, and Non Profit Industries. Chris has over 20 years of delivering results on executive search mandates.
Chris has a record of success completing searches for C-level, functional heads, and key senior leaders in Distribution, Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Administrative functions. Chris has traveled extensively throughout North and South America, as well as Europe.
Prior to entering the executive search business, Chris worked in Corporate Finance at General Foods Corporation, and in Public Accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick. Chris received his CPA license while working at KPMG Peat Marwick. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
